NFL Week 7 Power Rankings

1. Green Bay Packers - 6-0
Packers continue to roll effortlessly just no problems at all right now.

2. New England Patriots - 5-1
The Pats defense stepped up and played their best game last Sunday and Brady did what he did despite not having a great game. The best teams find ways to win and they did.

3. Baltimore Ravens - 4-1
The Ravens look REALLY good this year. The Defense is getting it done as usual, Ray Rice is looking like one of the best backs in the league as expected and Flacco looks to be getting better as a QB.

4. San Diego Chargers - 4-1
The Chargers only lost so far is to the Patriots by 7. Rivers has been very efficient so far and Ryan Matthews looks alot better this year.

5. New Orleans Saints - 4-2
The Saints lost last week but their still fine. This offense is still playing very well but they need to cut down on the interceptions. Still a top 5 team to me tho.

6. San Francisco 49ers - 5-1
The 49ers are somehow 5-1. Even tho Alex Smith has been playing mediocre right now the 49ers are proving that old school football still wins in this game despite everybody saying it's a "passing league." 49ers are 30th in passing offense and 21st in pass defense, however their in the top 5 In Run Defense and Offense and that's why their 5-1.

7. Detroit Lions - 5-1
The Lions had their first loss last week but their still fine. Stafford and Megatron will continue to play well as well as this D-Line and this team should continue to be a threat for one of the NFC wild card spots.

8. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - 4-2
The Bucs have really proven me wrong so far by this 4-2 start. First of all their only 2 losses this year have came to the 5-1 Lions and 49ers. Secondly I said this team couldn't beat the better competition. Well they beat the Falcons and they just beat the Saints. It hasn't been pretty so far but their getting it down.

9. Pittsburgh Steelers 4-2
The Steelers finally look like the Steelers. Their running the ball, the defense is playing well, and Ben is coming along. As the season grows on Pittsburgh will be more and more of a factor.

10. Oakland Raiders - 4-2
The Raiders are 4-2 and their running game and defense have been good. And now they've just gotten Carson Palmer. Palmer is a huge upgrade over Campbell and could be the final factor in this team going to the playoffs.

11. New York Giants - 4-2
The Giants continue to look Bi-polar after an impressive performance against a good Bills team last week. I said the Giants could possibly win this division and although it's early their certainly off to a good start to do so.

12. Buffalo Bills - 4-2
The Bills are much improved this year but still have proven already they have a long way to go. Really they should be  3-3 and even tho their playing better this year will probably still be on the outside looking in come playoff time.

13. Dallas Cowboys - 2-3
The Cowboys record might say 2-3 right now but their 3 losses have come to the Jets on opening night in their house, and against the 5-1 Lions and Patriots. The Cowboys probably gave the Pats the toughest game their going to play all year. This is still a very good team. Their only flaw right now is that they can't run the ball which is really hurting them right now.

14. Philadelphia Eagles - 2-4
Like I said my rankings don't FULLY reflect record but how good teams look on the field and right now this Eagles team has looked like a 4-2 team to me. They've just caught a few bad breaks. Their run defense is just something I think their going to have to deal with all year because they don't have the personel to be able to get better but they seem to be fixing the other issues.

15.  Tennesse Titans - 3-2
The Titans still remain the only team that has beating the Ravens and their Defense and Matt Hasselback are playing pretty well. Right now the Titans are winning this division enough said for now.

16. Houston Texans 3-3
It's Hard to fully judge this team knowing their without their best player in Andre Johnson. The Defense has been much improved this year and they've been able to run the ball effectively for the most part this year. However Schaub is off to somewhat of a slow start and without Johnson i'm not sure if this team really is better than the Titans but we'll see this week when they play.

17. Chicago Bears 3-3
The Bears 1st 6 games were against GB, NO, ATL, Car, Min, and Det and their 3-3. I can't be mad at that at all. Despite the fact that the Vikings have been struggling they've been able to get after the QB this year especially Jared Allen and the Bears O-Line gave their best performance of the year despite that. If Cutler is protected this is a different team.

18. New York Jets - 3-3
The Jets finally looked like the team I expected to see this year. Dominant Defensively and inconsistent offensively but still doing enough to get it done. This team still doesn't look like a playoff team to me and a win over Mia hardly proves much of anything but at least their losing streak is over.

19. Atlanta Falcons - 3-3
The Falcons are off to a slow start but hopefully their win last week against the Panthers will energize them and get them going in the right direction. This team has all the tools needed to be a super bowl contender they just gotta play better.

20. Cincinatti Bengals - 4-2
The Bengals have been a nice surprise so far this year but lets not blow their record out of proportion. 3 of their 4 wins have come against the Broncos, Browns, and Colts so I can't say that I see this as a good or above average team yet but at least their not at the bottom of the barrel like most thought they would be.

21. Washington Redskins - 3-2
This team is a prime example of why I don't go by win loss record, especially just 6 weeks in. This team has lost to Dallas and Philly and 2 of their 3 wins have come against the Cardinals and Seahawks so how impressive is that ? Also despite their record they've already made a QB change clearly this team isn't all that good.

22. Carolina Panthers - 1-5
You can sit up there and say the Panthers aren't winning all you want but they were 2-14 last year and 4 of their losses came against GB, NO, ATL, and Chi. All the other bad teams with better records than them would probably be 1-5 to if they had that schedule. The Panthers have giving all 4 of those teams all they could handle. Look for them to start winning as the schedule softens up.

23. Seattle Seahawks - 2-3
Seattle got their 1st legit win 2 weeks ago against the Giants and are fresh of the bye. With the way some of the other teams are playing right now this team isn't as bad as I thought they'd be after all.

24. Kansas Chiefs - 2-3
I'll admit I was one of the main people ready to leave this team for dead after their 0-3 start but they fought their way back and may be able to finish the season a respectable 6-10 or something.

25. Cleveland Browns - 2-3
I haven't really been impressed with this team at all and their 2 only wins have come against the winless Colts and Dolphins. Peyton Hillis could be really hurt as well this team is in trouble.

26. Denver Broncos - 1-4
Despite their 1-4 record the Broncos have stood strong against all the teams they've played so far except the GB (understandable) which is more than the other teams back this far can say. Tebow also appears to have energized this team we'll see what happens going forward.

27. Minnesota Vikings 1-4
McNabb has been benched for Christian Ponder and at this point it should be permanent. The Vikings are pretty much already out of it and the only positive they can hope for is if Ponder uses the rest of the season to further develop and if Peterson gets the rushing title.

28. Arizona Cardinals - 1-5
The Cardinals are coming off a bye week maybe they can actually get a win since they haven't since week 1. This was a team that alot of people thought could win the west they really need to pick it up.

29. Jacksonville Jaguars - 1-5
The Jags are another team that hasn't gotten a W since week 1 and with Baltimore up next they'll probably have to wait another week. It's going to be a long year for young Gabbert.

30. St. Louis Rams - 0-5
The Rams in my opinion actually should be 0-5 based on their schedule. However my problem with this team is their not competing as well as I've thought they would. They can't scored, they can't really stop anybody they've been a joke so far.

31. Indianapolis Colts - 0-6
I know the Colts are without Manning but this team just isn't interested in getting a win. Late 4th quarter execution cost them against Pittsburgh and they blew a 21-0 lead to the Chiefs. You start to wonder just who can they beat?

32. Miami Dolphins - 0-5
Matt Moore is now the starting QB in Miami and they got dominated by a team on a 3 game losing streak that's really enough said. This team's body language last night just told it all to me I think they might have packed it in for the year.

Week 6 NFL Power Rankings

1. Green Bay Packers - 5-0
The Packers went down 14-0 the end result they score 25 unanswered and won 25-14. This team is the best in the league and are really looking like there going to win 13 or 14 games if not more.

2. New Orleans Saints - 4-1
Saints continue to get it done in the 4th quarter to come up with wins thats the sign of a good team. Plus the Panthers are alot better than their record shows this Saints team is going to be in the mix to win it all right now with Brees playing QB as good as anybody in the league.

3. New England Patriots - 4-1
Patriots took care of business at home against the Jets and right now their only loss is to the Bills in a game Brady threw a couple fluke interceptions. This teams defense is starting to play better and offensively they really are unstoppable.

4. Detroit Lions - 5-0
Lions are undefeated and won a convincing game on Monday night football against the defending NFC North champs. This teams offense is firing on all cylinders after Best had a field day on the ground. We already know about Calvin and Stafford is finally healthy. This teams D-line has been absolutely dominant and if they back 7 can play well in stretches this team is going to the playoffs.

5. Baltimore Ravens - 3-1
The Ravens had a bye week this week and i'm dropping them 1 spot because now all of sudden that win against the Jets just isn't so impressive seeing how they aren't who we thought they were (so far).

6. San Diego Chargers - 4-1
Chargers game against the Broncos came down to the wire but they were dominating the team that they prepared to play I can't take to much away from them for having to try and stop Tebow without a game plan. This team is 4-1 and their only loss is to the Patriots the Chargers might be foreal this year.

7. Buffalo Bills - 4-1
Billls have now beaten the Patriots and the "Dream Team" I think their a legit playoff team right now. I'd prefer if they hadn't lost to the Bengals but hey I can't knock what their doing right now.

8. San Francisco 49ers - 4-1
The 49ers are playing good football not just for a NFC West team but for any team. It shocks me to say this but the NFC west might actually have a team that deserves a playoff spot. Their only loss is a overtime loss to the Cowboys very impressive to say the least.

9. Oakland Raiders - 3-2
The Raiders really are trying to make a serious run this year. There more than competitive this season their actually beating teams. Campell by no means has looked like an all star but he's managing games perfectly and not losing game for the Raiders. Plus the Raiders winning a game with McFadden having a down game proves they have more to offer than just him.

10. Dallas Cowboys - 2-2
Cowboys got a much needed bye week to get healthy. Big game against the Pats this week but Miles Austin is going to play and the rest of the guys playing hurt get time to rest up. Cowboys are fine right now.

11. Washington Redskins - 3-1
The Redskins are 3-1 and in 1st place in the NFC East. Their playing good football and that defense is foreal. Lets see how they play coming off their bye.

12. Houston Texans - 3-2
This Texans team will probably end up winning the division by default but I'd really like to see this team play better and show that their a legit playoff team. They simply  have to win that game against the Raiders they just have to if their serious about taking that "next step."

13. Pittsburgh Steelers - 3-2
Steelers finally looked good against a respectable team. The Defense was good and Big Ben and this offense got it rolling. This team could use this performance to go on a roll.

14. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - 3-2
Tampa Bay was embarrassed by a 49ers team that is better than expected this year but still I don't think their that good. This team's offense has been very come and go this year. Their going to simply have to be more consistent but i'ma chalk last week up to a bad week.

15. Tennessee Titans - 3-2
The Titans I think are still a straight squad they just ran up on a better team in a desperate situation. However Chris Johnson seems to be starting to get it going which is a good sign for this team. Also the defense has been solid. If Hasselback can continue to play well this team will challenge the Texans for the division.

16. New York Giants - 3-2
This team is just such an enigma right now. They go out and dominate the Eagles then struggle in back to back weeks against the Cardinals and Seahawks. The main thing this team needs right now is consistency.

17. Cincinnati Bengals - 3-2
At the beginning of the year people were saying the Bengals might be the worst team in the league, they were wrong. This team ain't making the playoffs but their off to a solid start and having proven so far that they won't be a pushover. The Dalton-Green connection looks to be effective so far as well. Bengals playing well for such a young team.

18. Chicago Bears - 2-3
Bears are 2-3 but their all 3 of their losses have come to teams in the top 5 of my power rankings. The Bears schedule has been brutal so far but good teams beat other good teams and so far the Bears have not and until they do their merely average.

19. New York Jets 2-3
The Jets can't stop the run or the pass and their defense is looking really suspect so far this year. Offensively their out of sync and lack a identity. The Jets have alot of work to do if they won't to even make the playoffs let alone win the super bowl.

20. Philadelphia Eagles - 1-4
The Eagles have lost quite a few games they should have won but at the end of the day their 1-4 and that's just unacceptable for a "Dream Team." This team's execution in the 4th quarter has just been terrible as this week they found away to lose by jumping on a hard count. They can't stop the run, they can't protect Vick, and they refuse to run the ball enough.

21. Atlanta Falcons - 2-3
The Falcons are 2-3 and just can't seem to put together a complete game. They were up at home 14-0 against the Packers in a very important game and then were outscored 25-0 to finish the game how does that happen ???

22. Carolina Panthers - 1-4
I swear the Panthers are one of the most exciting 1-4 teams I've ever seen in my life. This team keeps having to play really good teams and they keep hanging in their giving these good teams all they can handle. I'm not for moral victories for the better teams in the league but when you won 2 games last year you allowed to have moral victories. Also who gave Steve Smith the youth potion he looks like a pro bowl caliber receiver again.

23. Cleveland Browns - 2-2
Browns come out of there bye week at 500 I'd have to think their pleased with that. Hopefully Peyton Hillis is over his strep throat issues this week they really have no offense without him.

24. Minnesota Vikings - 1-4
Vikings finally got on the board this week with their 1st W this week. Peterson has looked well like AP so far and Mcnabb tho nothing special still looks better than last year and somewhat still serviceable. Jared Allen is beasting looking like the best DE in the league again after a somewhat down year last year I think the Vikings are better than their 1-4 record reflects.

25. Seattle Seahawks - 2-3
Seahwaks just beat the Giants and came up 2 points short against the Falcons last week this team might actually be better than I though. Also if Charlie Whitehurst is now the starting QB things can only get better for Seattle.

26. Kansas City Chiefs 2-3
Chiefs lost 2 good players to IR right off the bat and started 0-3 and everyone was quick to write them off as the worst team but NOT SO FAST. The Chiefs have won 2 straight and from behind this team won't make the playoffs this year but clearly they haven't packed it in yet.

27. Denver Broncos - 1-4
The Broncos are 1-4 but alot of their games have came down to the end. Also they finally put Tebow in last week and it seemed to energize the team but lets see how they play when teams actually prepare for Tebow.

28. St. Louis Rams - 0-4
The Rams had a bye this week which should help Stephen Jackson who really needed the rest. Also they got the Packers up next maybe 2 weeks to prepare will give them the edge and they pull a shocking upset. Then again I doubt it.

29. Jacksonville Jaguars - 1-4
The Jags lose yet another game and their lone win remains a week 1 win against the Titans. The Jags haven't show any signs of winning a game since week 1 is the real concern for me with this team. Jack Del Rio will def. be out before the year ends if this doesn't change.

30. Arizona Cardinals - 1-4
The Cardinals got man handled by the 0-4 Vikings last week that should tell you all you need to know. This team's defense is really just awful.

31. Indianoplis Colts - 0-5
Just when I thought the Colts were making progress they go and blow and 21-0 nothing lead to the Kansas City Chiefs. Completely unacceptable and now I don't know when this team might get their first win. #GetWellSoonPeyton

32. Miami Dolphins - 0-4
One bye week later and I think this is still the worst team in the NFL maybe they'll prove me wrong this upcoming week.

What about the other Texas QB?

I don't know if anyone knows it but there are two pro bowl QB's in the state of Texas. Tony Romo constantly gets criticized for not winning, underachieving, and only putting up empty stats. Well I say what about Scuab? At least Romo has a winning record as a starter. Matt Schaub as a starting QB now has a record of 28-31 after last weeks loss. Not only that but Schuab came up small in the 4th quarter yet AGAIN. That interception he threw on their final play was awful and had that had been Romo Twitter would have went into a uproar and ESPN would still be talking about it right now. Were not talking about a scrub here. Schaub has had back to back 4,000 yard seasons and it would have been 3 had he not got hurt in 08 so he's got some skill. He is the franchise QB of the Texans and now in a position where his team is favored to win that division he has come up small in the 4th quarter for the 2nd time this year. Why is it ok for Schaub and not Romo. Are yall such fickle fans that the team a QB plays for actually determines the standards you hold a player to. The Texans have been a playoff caliber team since last year so I don't wanna hear the Texans aren't a good team. All I wanna know is why isn't Schaub's failure to win as big a topic as Romo's.

NFL 1st Quarter Awards

MVP
The Packers are 4-0 and Rodgers is off to a great start. The balls he's throwing look simply perfect and his accuracy is unreal. He's the best QB in football and he's leading the best team right now through 4 weeks. Right now Rodgers leads the league in QB rating with a whopping 124.6. He's got 12 TD's and only 2 interceptions. He's also completing 73% of his passes that is absolutely SICK. To put that in prospective the best completion percentage ever in a single season is 70.6% accomplished by Drew Brees in 09 and Ken Anderson in 82.  He has to be the front runner to win MVP.

Offensive Player Of The Year
Darren McFadden, Wes Welker, and Calvin Johnson are all in the mix for this award but for me through the 1st 4 weeks the man that stands out the most is Matt Forte. Matt Forte has been doing it ALL for the Bears yet again as he's in the top 10 in rushing yards, top 20 in receiving yards, and is 3rd in the NFL in receptions. To me the Bears are 0-4 without Forte that's how important he's been. He's 2nd in the NFL in yards from scrimmage with 634 just 1 yard behind the leading Wes Welker.

Defensive Player Of The Year
The player that's had the biggest impact on defense so far to me is Demarcus Ware. Ware has been an absolute beast this year. He's 3rd in the NFL in sacks with 5 and even when he hasn't gotten sacks he's put good pressure on the QB and forced bad throws. He's a huge reason why the Cowboys defense which was at the bottom of the league last year is now 6th right now. His defense against the run this season has also been top notch and teams aren't even bothering trying to run off tackle to the left side because of him so he isn't getting alot of opportunities to rack up the tackles. Still he's been the focal point of what has possibly been the most improved defense in the league over the 1st 4 weeks.

Offensive Rookie Of The Year
Cam Newton has been amazing for a rookie QB so far. Through 4 weeks He's 3rd in the NFL in passing yards to only Brady and Brees. His QB rating is 84.5 right now and he's completing just about 60% of his passes which is also fantastic for a rookie QB, especially one that was just suppose to be able to run. He's got 5 tds and 5 pics and typically I'd like to see a better TD interception ration than that but Cam Newton has the Panthers looking good and their fan base has to be excited about their future.

Defensive Rookie Of The Year
Von Miller has been the most impressive defensive rookie so far this year. He's tied for 5th in the NFL with 4 sacks already and looks to be living up to being the best pass rusher in the draft. He's one of the few players stepping up and making an impact on a mediocre Broncos team.

Week 5 NFL Power Rankings

1. Green Bay Packers - 4-0
The Packers are the undisputed best team in the NFL right now and look as close to repeating as you can look just 4 weeks in. Aaron Rodgers can do no wrong right now and continues to prove why he's the best QB in football.

2. New Orleans Saints - 3-1
The Saints only defeat is still just a 8 point loss to the packers on the road. They've won every game since and Drew Brees looks on fire this year. While everyone is talking about Rodgers and Brady for MVP I think Brees is going to draw consideration as well if this continues.

3. New England Patriots - 3-1
What the Patriots and Tom Brady are doing on offense right now is just un real. Their the number 1 offense in the NFL averaging 507 yards a game. This team would still be undefeated if not for some flukish interceptions in my opinion. The defense must continue to improve and play more consistent but it really helps having Tom Brady when your trying to run a new defense.

4. Baltimore Ravens - 3-1
My knock on this team early was the loss to the Titans but they've proven to be actually be a decent team and all of sudden losing to them on the road doesn't look as bad. This Defense is crazy right now and the running game is strong. I can't imagine Flacco will play that bad consistently I think the Ravens have established themselves as the 2nd best team in the AFC through the 1st month.

5. Houston Texans - 3-1
The Texans won a huge game against the Pittsburgh Steelers and rushed for over 180 yards as a team against a team that hasn't allowed a 100 yard single rusher in I don't know how long. I'm convinced right now the Texans can run it on anybody and if Andre Johnson isn't hurt to bad their passing game will be fine. O and their defense is 10th in the NFL right now after being the achilles heel of the team last year.

6. Detroit Lions - 4-0
The Lions are undefeated and they look good but I'm still waiting on them to play a complete game. All these comebacks show great character and mental toughness but started off slow and depending on coming back is low percentage football and their going to have to get going faster and play more complete games if they want to really be a contender in the NFC.

7. San Diego Chargers - 3-1
The Chargers only loss at the moment is a loss to the Patriots in a game they still played well. They've handled their business in all their other games and even tho the competition hasn't been that great I'm impressed that this team is showing the mental toughness not to let themselves slip up against teams they should beat like they did all of last year.

8. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - 3-1
The Bucs are 3-1 and their only defeat was against the Lions where they made a late comeback. This team is starting to play well and Blounte is starting to get rolling. The Bucs have a solid O-Line and can push people around up front. And Josh Freeman continues to be cool under pressure as he got it done again in the 4th quarter on MNF.

9. Buffalo Bills - 3-1
The Bills are 3-1 and came up short in their 1st loss against the Bengals. The loss against the Bengals isn't as bad as you might think tho as they've proven to be more competitive than anyone thought they could be this year. The Bills still have a good balanced offense led By Fitzpatrick and Fred Jackson but these are the games they have to win if they hope to get a wild card birth in the AFC.

10. Dallas Cowboys - 2-2
The Cowboys are now 6th in total offense and 5th in total defense. However Romo's decision making has lost them two games, then again it's won them 2 games. Also the Cowboys have struggled to run the ball consistently. When the QB's decision making is your only real issue tho things could be worse. Just off the eye test this is a top 10 team.

11. Washington Redskins 3-1
The Redskins are 3-1 and despite Rex being their QB they've managed to play well. Their defense is very solid and they've had some success on the ground. If Rex can just stay out of the way sort of speak the Redskins might be able to be a legit playoff contender.

12. New York Giants - 3-1
The Giants haven't played but one really good game and that was against Philly. The other two wins have been against the Rams and Cards and the Giants didn't earn many style points in either. But right now the Giants are dealing with more than the normal share of injuries so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for fighting threw it and still getting it done.

13. Tennessee Titans - 3-1
Somehow this team is 3-1 right now. Even after losing Brit for the year after week 3 the Titans didn't let it get them down and came out and got another W last week. This defense is for real and Hasselback has turned back the clock. I'm still not a believer and I'm not sure if this can last but as of right now the Titans are in the top half of the league.

14. Oakland Raiders - 2-2
The Raiders have been extremely competitive this season. They bit off a little more than they could chew with NE last week and took the L but that Patriots team is going to beat alot of teams this year I don't hold that against them. This team can pound you in the ground with McFadden and Bush and their D-Line has been down right disruptive so far.

15. Chicago Bears - 2-2
The Bears if nothing else have the best special teams in the NFL and have so for years. Lovie and his staff do a great job in that aspect of the game. However Cam and company torched this defense that's suppose to be the back bone of this team. The Bears D has to be better if their going to make the playoffs because Forte and Hester can't bail them out every week.

16. Philadelphia Eagles - 1-3
Even tho there 1-3 I have to give them the benefit of the doubt due to the fact Vick got knocked out of 2 of those games. That might not matter in the standings but it does matter in these rankings which are based more on how good I think teams are playing more so than the final score. The Eagles still are terrible against the run and can't convert on short yardage. It doesn't matter how good they look on paper if they don't start doing the little things better they won't be in the playoffs.

17. San Francisco 49ers - 3-1
The 49ers are 3-1 and actually haven't been playing that bad. It hasn't been pretty but they've been getting it done and their only loss came in overtime to Dallas. The 49ers offense as a whole both running (not counting the Eagles) and passing need to do more but the Defense has been playing well and this team hasn't been doing things to beat themselves.

18. New York Jets - 2-2
The Jets in my opinion haven't had a significant performance all year. The were dominated by the Raiders and Ravens and really the Cowboys to and they blew out a Jaguars team that possibly might be worse than the Colts without Manning. I haven't been impressed with this team at all so far. However the defense has shown flashes of dominance and completely shut the Ravens passing game down. Offensively Sanchez has put up yards but this team just needs to play better overall as a group.

19. Pittsburgh Steelers - 2-2
The Steelers are another disappointment to start off the season. It's not that their 2-2, it's the way they've been playing that's more or so bothering me. Since when can't Pittsburgh stop the Run. Foster lit them up for 155 and the Colts of all people were able to have some success against them on the ground as well. However the most alarming thing of all about this team right now is it's O-Line. All the talented skill players and the Elite QB don't matter if your O-Line is playing this bad it could keep this team out of the playoffs.

20. Atlanta Falcons -  2-2
The Falcons are 2-2 but I mean DAMN, when are these guys going to show me the team that went 13-3 last year. The probably woulda lost to the Eagles if Vick doesn't go down and they almost let Seattle come back and beat them. This team clearly has issues and things just aren't clicking for them right now.

21. Carolina Panthers - 1-3
The Panthers might be 1-3 but I've never seen a team make 1-3 look so exciting. First let's look at their 4 games. They lost in week 1 to the Cards on a kick return TD so not terrible, then they gave the Packers all they could handle and came up short by 7. Finally they got their 1st win against the Jags in a game with terrible playing conditions, and last week they gave the Bears all they could handle IN Chicago. This team is very competitive right now and Cam is proving everyone wrong right now. I feel like the Panthers are good enough to compete, not beat, but compete against anybody right now.

22. Cincinnati Bengals - 2-2
I never though I'd ever have this team anywhere near the top 20 team but after 4 they most certainly are. Through the 1st month of the season the best defense in the NFL plays in the AFC North and I ain't talking about the Steelers or the Ravens. The Bengals currently have the best defense in the NFL and it's allowed them to win 2 games and be right there at the end in the 2 they lost. The competition hasn't been that great so far for this team so I'm not by any means sold on this team even being a 8-8 type team but for right now they have played better than expected.

23. Cleveland Browns - 2-2
The Browns are 2-2 right now which with their roster is about as good as they can hope for. They haven't been bad nor have they been anything great either. They still lack consistency in their receiving core but the defense is playing ok and they have Peyton Hillis which allows them to keep games close and have a chance to win against some of the lesser teams.

24. Denver Broncos - 1-3
The Broncos actually haven't played terrible if you think about it. They lost 2 games to the Titans and Raiders by 3 and neither of those are bad teams and then they got dominated by the best team in the NFL in GB last week. And all of sudden that win against the Bengals looks somewhat credible. The Broncos aren't winning but their competing and hanging in games which is all you can really ask for of a team coming off a bottom 5 record with a new coach.

25. Kansas City Chiefs - 1-3
After 2 embarrasing performances in a row to start the season the Chiefs last two games they only lost by 3 to San Diego and beat the Vikings. This team has no chance to win this division again but at least they look competitive again.

26. Minnesota Vikings - 0-4
The Vikings just continue to find ways to lose week after week. However because of some of the talent they have combined with the fact they've actually held leads their by default the best no win team.

27. St. Louis Rams - 0-4
I know their 0-4 but I have no doubt this team could beat the Cards, Seahawks, Jags, or any other no win team in the league. Their schedule has been brutal to start the year with games against Philly, the Giants, Ravens, and Redskins and it doesn't get any easier as there next 3 are against Green Bay, Dallas, and New Orleans. This team could very well start 0-7 because of that I mean where are the NFC west teams for them to play so we can properly gauge how good or bad they are.

28. Jacksonville Jaguars - 1-3
This team is simply a work in progress. They've now turned to Blaine Gabbert to be the QB and well he looks like a typical rookie QB. This teams defense isn't anywhere near good enough to support the Jags offense.

29. Indianapolis Colts - 0-4
The Colts are still win less but they have answered my calls for them to play better now 2 weeks in a row. I don't know if being on National TV has brought out the pride and fight in this team or maybe it just took 2 weeks of no Peyton to register mentally before they finally decided to go out and play and make the best of it. Either way the team should be proud of their last 2 performances.

30. Seattle Seahawks - 1-3
The Seahawks are finally starting to show a little life. After losing their 1st 2 they've beaten the Cardinals and gave ATL a fight. Still this is one of the worst teams in the NFL and they have the worst starting QB in the league.

31. Arizona Cardinals - 1-3
This teams only win remains a game they won at the end on a kick return against the Panthers who really outplayed them. This defense can't stop a cold. The Cardianls actually had their best performance of the year last week tho but still somehow managed to let the Giants win a game they were up by double digits in near the end of the 4th.

32. Miami Dolphins - 0-4
This team just can't win and win go back and look at their body of work through the 1st week their easily the worst team. They lost by 1 to the Browns and other than that they've been completely man handled by their other 3 opponents.

My Thoughts On Romo

I've been watching Romo since he came in at halftime to replace Drew Bledsoe back in 2006. I've seen alot of the games he's played in so I know a thing or two about him as a player and a QB. When it comes to Romo I think people's opinion on him can be described in one word, Hyperbole. Dictionary.com defines a hyperbole as a obvious and intentional exaggeration. Nothing can sum up any better some of the things people say about Romo. I can't sit up here and act like Romo is just this great QB that's at the top of the NFL but you clearly don't know football if you think he sucks or that he's not top 10. Lets look at his career for a minute 1st the numbers. He's started 65 games now which is essentially 4 full seasons of work. In that time he has 17,923 passing yards, 125 tds, 67 interceptions, 64.1 completion percentage, and 95.1 QB rating. This is where some people say well he doesn't win many games. OH REALLY? He's 41-24 as a starter that's a 59% winning percentage. Then they say well he always chokes in the 4th quarter. OH REALLY? He's got 12 4th quarter comebacks. My point in all this is Romo is a good not great QB. The fact of the matter is there are 6 elite QBs in my book: Rodgers, Brady, Manning, Brees, Ben, Rivers after that everybody else is just good, average, or sucks. none of those 6 QBs I just named are leaving their teams so who else can Dallas get at QB. Also taking those QBs out of the equation who else left really has better career numbers or has proven to really be better than Romo. The only other QB you could make an argument for is Vick I believe he and Romo round out the top 8. No other QB in the league still in their prime has the resume to be better than Romo. I know Romo messes up in the 4th quarter sometimes but he also wins sometimes. Lets look at his skill set for a minute. He has good arm strength and  can make all the NFL throws. He's very accurate as you often see him fitting difficult throws into tight windows. He's one of the best in the league at the line of scrimmage pre snap. He's mobile in the pocket as he's able to avoid defenders and extend plays. However this isn't a praise Romo article he has his flaws. For one his decision making especially in the clutch can be down right bad. Romo's biggest problem is he doesn't know his own limitations sometimes. He wants so bad to be the Hero and to make the plays all the time that he just tries things he shouldn't. But despite all his issues at crunch time and his sometimes bad decision making what can you point at from a QB skill set standpoint and say Romo isn't a good QB. Romo might not be Brady or Manning but he's still damn good and I'm happy he's our QB. The Cowboys QB's before Romo consisted of  Drew Bledsoe, Vinny Testaverde, Chad Hutchinson, Drew Henson, and Quincy Carter. Since Aikman retired we only made the playoffs once before Romo became the QB. You can say what you want about Romo but he does win and he does give your team a chance to be in the hunt. Make no mistake about it the Cowboys will never reach their true potential if Romo doesn't improve his decision making and become a better game manager. But you can't deny Romo is a good QB, a pro bowl QB, and a QB that has done more throwing the football than any QB in the Cowboys history. Look around the NFL who else other than the elite 6 and MAYBE Vick can you consider better than Romo. Matt Schaub has played meaningless games his whole life in Houston as they've never even won 10 games. Matt Ryan one playoff appearance where they got dominated at home in a game they shoulda won. Joe Flacco has got to the playoffs but let's be real he's been nothing more than a game manager for that team. Same with Mark Sanchez. How about Eli? aside from that miraculous super bowl run where everything just happened to go right for that team Eli has been terrible in the postseason and even more of a turnover machine than Romo. Jay Cutler has a big arm but is wildy inaccurate at times and can be turnover prone as well. Stafford, Fitzpatrick, and Josh Freeman don't even have enough body of work to compare. So tell me honestly if Romo career had gone exactly how it has up to this point but he played for say the Lions, would you still feel the same way you do about Romo. At the end of the day your hate for Romo comes from your hate for the Cowboys. You can talk about how Romo hasn't won anything but Phillip Rivers hasn't either and nobody ever has anything negative to say about him because nobody cares about the Chargers. Not every QB wins a Super Bowl its not the ultimate deciding factor in rather your a good QB or not. Dan Marino never won a superbowl guys like Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson did so that's really all you need to know. I want us to win a super bowl as bad as any Cowboys fan and some of Romo's mistakes drive me insane. But I also see the struggle that is other teams in the NFL offense and how their QB's simply can't make some of the plays and throws Romo can and that makes me appreciate him more. Also at the end of the day of the last 10 superbowl winning QBs the only two not in my elite 6 were Brad Johnson (who played for a really GREAT defense) and Eli Manning (where EVERYTHING went miraculously right). It doesn't matter how far you get in the playoffs if you don't win it all and just Like Romo all these QB's that some of you foolishly have ahead of Romo haven't won anything either.

Week 4 NFL picks

Lions @ Cowboys - Cowboys
The Cowboys defense looks really good out the gate and now for the 1st time all year all corners are healthy. I think the Cowboys o will have worked out the kinks from last week and the Lions D isn't as good as the Redskins so it should be easier to move the ball.

Panthers @ Bears - Bears
Bears are 1-2 but I've given them a pass because of the tough 3 game stretch however if they wanna be a playoff team they gotta start winning and this is one they gotta get. They are the better team, their at home, and they should show it.

Bills @ Bengals - Bills
Bills snuck away with the w last week against the Pats and this week their going against one of the lesser teams in the NFL. If the Bills really are for real they can't play down after a big win they have to forget about last week and take care of business on the road against a team their better than.

Titans @ Browns - Titans
I wasn't high on the Titans at all before the season started but their started to show that they can play. Still not a playoff team to me especially with the loss of Kenny Brit for the year but their def. not a bottom dweller team and should beat the Browns. Also fun fact, the Titans are 1st in total defense so far this year.

Vikings @ Chiefs - Vikings
Two teams that have yet to win a game and one has still been playing significantly better than the other. I'm referring to the Vikings. The Vikings have led in the 1st half of all 3 games this year. I say that continues this week as their playing against a team that is really struggling to score points, and they finally keep that lead and put one away to get in the win column and win this battle of the beaten.

Redsins @ Rams - Rams
I like what the Redskins have done so far but the Rams really are better than their record suggest and after starting 0-3 there going to be desperate for a win. The Redskins are on the road and coming off a short week from a game they lost as the end and their could be a hangover. I know it's the NFC West but if the Rams wanna win the division they really don't need to start 0-4.

49ers @ Eagles - Eagles
I've picked against the Eagles 3 weeks straight and have been right 2 times out of 3. I'm tempted to do it again because this team just isn't in sync right now despite all the talent. But i'm going to be objective here and take the Eagles at home against a west coast team on the east coast in a 1 o clock game. The Eagles really don't need to drop this game and Vick says he's gonna go so I'm going with Philly.

Saints @ Jaguars - Saints
Saints in a blowout and that's all I have to say about that.

Steelers @ Texans - Texans
The Texans had their 1st big moment of the year last year and came up short. If they really wanna be seen as a legit playoff team and not just a team that's gone get in cuz Peyton got hurt they gotta beat one of the elite teams in the NFL and I think this is the week they do it. The Steelers haven't looked to hot this year and are looking really vulnerable right now. I think the Texans take advantage.

Giants @ Cardinals - Giants
The Cardianls defense looks really bad this year and here come the Giants fresh off a dominate performance against the Eagles. I think Manning will throw it all over this defense and they should be able to run the ball well.

Falcons @ Seahawks - Falcons
The Seahawks won their 1st game of the year against the Cardinals by 3. Which means I'm still convinced this team sucks. The Falcons have gotten off to a rough start and this week they've got the perfect opponent to get back on track.

Broncos @ Packers - Packers
Packers are at home against the Broncos that's really all I need to say.

Patriots @ Raiders - Patriots
The Pats are coming off a loss which normally means their going to win the next week. It's very difficult to beat the pats 2 weeks in a row and although the Raiders are much improved I can't see them doing it. They can run the ball but against the Pats your not going to beat them if you can't make plays in the passing game consistently and the Raiders can't.

Dolphins @ Chargers - Dolphins
The Chargers are going against a 0-3 team in the Dolphins that are going to be desperate. Sparano's Job is on the line so I believe he's going to have his players really prepared to go out and win this game. I like the Chargers roster but I don't like their coach. I don't think Norv will have the Chargers at the top of their game at home against a 0-3 team that their heavily favored to beat.

Jets @ Ravens - Ravens
All of a sudden the Jets defense looks beatable. Mcfadden killed them last week and this week Ray Rice is the opposing back. I think the Ravens defense will outplay the Jets defense and Ray Rice will find some running room to give the Ravens the edge in a close game.

Colts @ Buccaneers - Bucs
I liked the way the Colts played last week and it leads me to believe they might have a slight chance in this one. But without Peyton I can't pick them to beat the Bucs at home on monday night. The Bucs looked good against ATL last week I look for it to continue Monday Night.
